Enrolment
A place on a course is confirmed once the fee for that level or module has been received. Courses run with a small number of students, so a confirmed place is held for you and not offered to anyone else.
Fees
Fees are quoted per level, module or workshop and are stated in full before you enrol. There are no additional charges for materials — handouts, notation and worksheets are included.
Missed classes and rescheduling
If you cannot attend a session, tell me in advance and a recording or a make-up arrangement will be made where possible. If I have to move a session, you will be given as much notice as I can manage and the session will be rescheduled, not lost.
Refunds
If you withdraw before a course begins, the fee is refunded in full. If you withdraw within the first two sessions, the unused portion is refunded. After that point the fee is not refundable, though your place can usually be transferred to a later batch if something has genuinely gone wrong. Talk to me — these situations are handled reasonably.
Recordings and materials
Recordings and course materials are provided for your own study. Please do not circulate, republish or sell them. Much of the material is prepared specifically for these courses.
Conduct
Classes are small and often involve chanting or singing aloud. Students are asked to arrive on time, keep to the practice between sessions, and treat other students' attempts with the same patience they would want for their own.
What is taught
These are courses in language, philosophy, recitation and music. They are not medical or therapeutic treatment and are not offered as such. Where sources disagree — and in these traditions they often do — the disagreement is taught as a disagreement rather than resolved silently.
