पातञ्जलयोगसूत्राणि

Pātañjala Yoga Sūtras

Patañjali's sūtras studied with the Vyāsa Bhāṣya and the classical commentaries.

A close philosophical study of the Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali — chanted, construed and interpreted with the Vyāsa Bhāṣya and the principal commentaries. This is the core text of Yoga Darśana, and the foundation of everything a yoga teacher claims to teach.

योगश्चित्तवृत्तिनिरोधः ॥ १.२ ॥
तदा द्रष्टुः स्वरूपेऽवस्थानम् ॥ १.३ ॥

yogaś citta-vṛtti-nirodhaḥ | tadā draṣṭuḥ svarūpe'vasthānam

Yoga is the restraint of the movements of the mind. Then the seer abides in its own nature.
